Hurricane Dorian Disaster Relief

Seminole Region Charity

September 6, 2019

Dear Members and Friends

I believe by now everyone in the country has realized the mass devastation from Hurricane Dorian that our neighbors in the Bahamas have experienced.  Many clubs, members, and team members have asked how we can help. In talking with my colleagues across the country, we determined that the easiest and most effective way to assist the residents is by raising money.

We have partnered with Byron Russell, owner of Cheney Brothers Food Service. Byron has agreed to sell us all supplies at his cost and to handle all the shipping expenses of the products. Cheney Brothers has a significant footprint on all the Bahamian Islands and we are confident that the supplies will be managed and stored properly and will be delivered to the people who need them the most.

We have established a link through the Seminole Region Charity Golf Tournament, which has a 501c3 designation for the receipt of funds. 100% of the funds raised will be used to purchase supplies to be sent to the Bahamas. As the charity has a 501c3 designation, your contribution is tax deductible. The Seminole Region Charity has raised over $7 Million for children's charities over the years.  100% of the monies donated have been dispersed to the charities with no funds going to administrative costs.

I thank you for your support and generosity for these people who have lost so much.

On behalf of the Seminole Region Charity,
